Bruce Campbell Returns For 'Evil Dead' Sequel Series 'Ash Vs. Evil Dead' On Starz

Okay, here’s a question for the most diehard fans of “Evil Dead“: Why? 30 plus years after Sam Raimi and Bruce Campbell brought their cabin-in-the-woods tale to cinemas and made their mark on the horror genre, why do we need more? Certainly, the “Evil Dead” remake (which they are still trying to fashion into a trilogy) didn’t bring anything new to the equation, but since the fans have been clamoring for more Campbell-as-Ash action, they’re gonna get it. On TV…

Starz has ordered up “Ash vs. Evil Dead,” a ten-episode series that will air in 2015. The show catches up with the much-aged Ash, who has to face his demons, in both meanings of the word. Raimi will direct the first half-hour episode as well as executive produce, and he wrote the show alongside Ivan Raimi and Tom Spezialy. No word yet on who the other directors might be, but we won’t be surprised if Raimi apprentice Fede Alvarez (who helmed the remake, and whose next feature is being produced by the “Evil Dead” creator) isn’t too far behind and dives into this world as well.

So, hooray for fans, we suppose, but every time a remake or reboot gets made, an original project gets pushed aside. Expectations will be very, very high for this as fans have been waiting for Campbell to do his thing again since 1992’s “Army Of Darkness.” Can the show deliver? Tell us what you think below.
