The state of the industry being what it is, Criticwire ends up reporting on a lot of critics losing their jobs, so it’s a relief when we can do the opposite, like relaying the news that former Film.com editor David Ehrlich has just announced he’ll be joining Time Out New York as its new Associate Film Editor, serving under Film Editor Joshua Rothkopf. Ehrlich lost his old gig in January, as Film.com cut back on original content, on its way to shutting down entirely this October. Meanwhile, critic Keith Uhlich opted to leave TONY in September, but for once the position stayed open, and editor Joshua Rothkopf announced he was looking for a new hire. Seven short weeks later, the search is over:

i can also still be found @LWLies & the usual spots!

Ehrlich, who’s spent the last ten months freelancing for outlets like Little White Lies and the Dissolve, is already at work on the latest installment of his video best-of list. We’re looking forward to it, and all the writing to come.
