IFC Acquires Venice Winner 'Hungry Hearts,' Starring Adam Driver

IFC Films has acquired all rights to Saverio Costanzo’s thriller “Hungry Hearts,” Deadline reports. The film was honored this year at the Venice Film Festival with top acting awards for principals Adam Driver and Alba Rohrwacher. Costanzo wrote and directed.

It’s an Italian film, but spoken in English; “Hungry Hearts” tells the story of an American man and an Italian woman raising their child. It seems like a sunny romantic comedy, until the mother’s (Rohrwacher) behavior takes a turn for the crazy, and her parenting starts to concern Driver’s character.

The film was nominated for the Golden Lion, though it didn’t ultimately win. Check out a clip below, where Adam Driver belts a song out in Italiano:
