‘Pride,’ ‘Imitation Game’ and ‘Lilting’ Among British Independent Film Award Nominees

'Pride,' 'Imitation Game' and 'Lilting' Among British Independent Film Award Nominees

The 17th Moet British Independent Film Awards (or “BIFAs” as somebody somewhere probably calls it) have announced their  annual nominations, and it was a very gay affair indeed: Matthew Warchus’ crowd-pleasing gay rights drama “Pride” got 7 nominations (second only to “’71”) while Alan Turing biopic “The Imitation Game” got 4 (which is actually somewhat underwhelming considering of any film on the list, it’s the one with the most Oscar potential). Hong Khaou’s “Lilting” also factored in, taking nominations for debut director and achievement in production.
