Via their Flavor Unit Entertainment production shingle, along with Capital Arts Entertainment, I’ve learned that Queen Latifah and partner Shakim Compere have set up a horror feature film, titled “The Secrets of Emily Blair,” which Joseph Genier will direct from a script penned by Patricia Harrington.
The film will follow a man who tries, with the help of a priest, to exercise the demon that has possessed his fiancée: “When his fiancee, Emily Blair, becomes possessed by a demon, leaving a trail of bodies in her bloody wake, William teams up with his longtime parish priest, Father Jimmy Avital, to try and save Emily from the monster inside her.
No casting announcements available yet, but filming is expected to begin in December in Los Angeles.
Genier, a veteran producer of several Tyler Perry projects like “Madea’s Big Happy Family,” “For Colored Girls,” “Why Did I Get Married Too?,” and others, as well as the “Teen Wolf” TV series, will be making his feature directorial debut with this film.
Along with Latifah and Compere, Mike Elliott, Yaneley Arty, Ron Robinson, Otis Best, Greg Holstein and Shelby Stone are also on board to produce.
