'The Retrieval’ Coming Out On Blu-Ray DVD in Feb.

Though director Chris
Eska’s excellent film The Retrieval is now streaming on Netflix (as reported by
Vanessa in her review of the film a few days ago HERE) Kino Lorber has announced
this week that the label will also be releasing the film on Blu-ray DVD on Feb.
10th

The film,
which successfully played the film festival circuit last year, and set during
the Civil War deals with a  thirteen-year-old boy who survives by working
with a white bounty hunter gang. They send him to earn the trust of runaway
slaves in order to lure them back to the south.

However
while on a forced mission into the free north to find Nate, a fugitive
freedman, things go wrong and Will and Nate make a bond  and find themselves on the run for freedom

Though the subject
of slavery scare you off, it’s a powerful, beautifully acted film which ends on
a beautifully poignant note and is definitely worth seeing. And you also check
out Vanessa’s interview with the director Chris Eska which she did back in April
HERE
.

Among the
extra feature on the blu-ray will be an audio commentary by the director,
deleted scene and footage of stunt rehearsals.
