2015 Golden Globe Predictions: Best Actor – Drama

2015 Golden Globe Predictions: Best Actor - Drama

Indiewire’s Awards Editor Peter Knegt will provide regular updates on the Golden Globe film races leading up to the nominations announcement December 11 at 8am ET.

This is probably the tightest race of the night, with feasibly anyone but Jake Gyllenhaal (who don’t get us wrong, we loved in “Nightcrawler”) capable of pulling off a win. But Eddie Redmayne seems like the most likely to succeed, setting up a Redmayne v. Keaton Oscar race.

The Nominees:
Steve Carell, “Foxcatcher”
Benedict Cumberbatch, “The Imitation Game”
Jake Gyllenhaal, “Nighcrawler”
David Oyelowo, “Selma”
Eddie Redmayne, “The Theory of Everything”

Will Win: Eddie Redmayne, “The Theory of Everything”
Could Win: Anyone but Jake Gyllenhaal
Should Win: Eddie Redmayne, “The Theory of Everything”
Shoulda Been Here: Oscar Isaac, “A Most Violent Year”

Check out all our predictions (including the TV categories care of both Knegt and Indiewire TV Critic Ben Travers) here.
