J.K. Rowling’s post-Hogwarts mystery series is coming to television.
Well, to British television, anyway. The BBC will adapt Rowling’s The Cuckoo’s Calling and The Silkworm — the two books the Harry Potter author initially published under the name Robert Galbraith — into a series. It will be made with Rowling’s assistance, according to the BBC, though it’s currently unclear what that means. Nor is it yet known how many episodes/season the series will have, or when it will air.
The Cuckoo’s Calling and The Silkworm follow a down-on-his-luck detective named Cormoran Strike.
A BBC-HBO miniseries adaptation of Rowling’s adult novel The Casual Vacancy will air next February.
