More Free Scripts! Download Oscar Contenders 'Birdman,' 'The Grand Budapest Hotel,' 'Wild' & Others

We recently wrote about one of the upsides of awards season: studios share scripts for awards contenders in hopes of bolstering their chances at nominations. We previously shared scripts for "Boyhood," "The Fault in Our Stars," "The Theory of Everything" and more, but we’ve updated the list to include all of the scripts that are available to download (for free!) so far.

For aspiring screenwriters, these scripts amount to a free screenwriting class. In studying the language, structure and pacing of the original and adapted screenplays below, you’ll learn how the masters craft a thriller like "Gone Girl" or a tearjerker like "The Fault in Our Stars."

It’s also instructive to see each of these films first and then pore over the respective screenplays — detailing the ways in which the cinematographer, composer, editor, costume designer and all of the other members of the filmmaking team brought the screenwriter and director’s vision to the screen.

Just this morning, the New York Film Critics Association named "The Grand Budapest Hotel" this year’s Best Screenplay and now you have the opportunity to read the winning script in its entirety below, along with other awards frontrunners.
