News Anchor T.J. Holmes Lands New Night Owl Gig at ABC News

Ever since
he left CNN and HLN, news anchor T.J. Holmes (real name Loutelious Holmes Jr. –
No wonder he changed his name.  Wouldn’t you?) has been something of gypsy, bouncing around a few networks.

As you
remember, there was his unfortunate gig on BET, hosting the late night news/talk show, “Don’t Sleep,” which everyone agrees was something of a disaster. A show with no
real focus, trying to be a mix of “The
Daily Show” and “Meet the Press,” but winding up being neither. And things weren’t
helped with Holmes, who was ill-suited for the show, and being on the wrong network, that didn’t have a clue what the show was supposed to be, or how to promote it.

After the
quick cancellation of “Don’t Sleep,” Holmes then moved on to MSNBC, where he worked
as a weekend anchor.

But last
week, ABC News announced that Holmes will soon join the network as their latest
addition. One catch though… you‘ll either have to stay up very late, or get up
very early in the morning to see him.

Holmes will
join ABC News as their new co-host for both “World News Now” and its followup show, “America This Morning.”

“World News Now” is ABC’s overnight news program, and “America This Morning” is the program that precedes “Good Morning America,” five days a week.

In addition to
his co-hosting duties, Holmes, according to the network, will also “report across our all broadcast and digital
platforms;” which means that some stories reported by Holmes will be re-broadcast
on other ABC news programs during the day, and you’ll be able to watch him
online as well.

Maybe it’s
not the perfect solution for all those T.J. Holmes fans out there; but, look at
it this way, at least he’s better than Don Lemon.
