Original Score Contenders Trent Reznor, Alexandre Desplat Among 2015 Grammy Nominees

Composers Trent Reznor for “Gone Girl” and Alexandre Desplat for “The Grand Budapest Hotel” are among today’s 2015 Grammy nominees for Best Score Soundtrack for Visual Media. While Reznor’s haunting electro score is a clear frontrunner for the Best Original Score Oscar, Desplat has a better shot at a nomination for award season heavy-hitters “Unbroken” or “The Imitation Game.”

The rest of the nominees in the category include scores from 2013 films “Frozen,” “Gravity” and “Saving Mr. Banks.” In the Best Compilation Soundtrack category, “American Hustle,” “Frozen,” “Get On Up,” “Guardians of the Galaxy” and “The Wolf of Wall Street” all received nominations.
