The Gotham Independent Award Winners

The Gotham Independent Award Winners

Here are the winners of Monday night’s Gotham awards.

While the New York Film Critics skipped out on “Birdman,” for whatever reason, the Gothams came through for the Alejandro González Iñárritu film, awarding it best feature and actor Michael Keaton.

The NYFCC did go with “Boyhood” for their best feature, as well as director Richard Linklater and best supporting actress Patricia Arquette. Both groups awarded Laura Poitras’ acclaimed Edward Snowden documentary “CITIZENFOUR.”

Gotham Award Tributes went to Tilda Swinton, Netflix’s Ted Sarandos, and “Foxcatcher” director Bennett Miller; in what seems to be a pattern (see Indie Spirits), a special Gotham Jury Award was presented to Steve Carell, Mark Ruffalo, and Channing Tatum for their ensemble performance in “Foxcatcher” (Sony Pictures Classics).
