Even though “Everything & Everything & Everything” premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival this past fall, we didn’t get to see it. Given that anything involving Shane Carruth on a big screen is like capturing a unicorn in the wild, we’re especially disappointed to have missed it, but Live For Films has unearthed the trailer which has been online since August, and… better late than never.
Co-starring Makeda Declet, Ethan Leaverton, Kirsten Roquemore, and directed by Alberto Roldan, the film boasts a strange, Carruth-ian premise. Here’s the official synopsis: In this visionary statement about the meteoric rise and catastrophic falls of consumer culture, the oppressively vapid life of sad sack Morgan (Primer and Upstream Color director Shane Carruth) takes a sudden turn when he discovers a mystical blue pyramid that produces doorknobs. Realizing the profit potential of this tireless high producer, Morgan takes it to the next level — and then some.
“Everything & Everything & Everything” has since screened at Toronto After Dark and the Hamptons International Film Festival, but no word yet on where else it might pop up or if it will be officially released. Watch below, and Carruth will also star in the short “Memory Box” with Mackenzie Davis, which is likely to hit the festival circuit next year.
