"Black Future Month" Afrofuturism Film Series in Chicago in Feb

Starting
next Thursday, and continuing every Thursday through the rest of the February, Black World Cinema, AfroFuturism849.com and
SMG Chatham theaters in Chicago will present “Black Future Month,” which is a film
series centered on Afrofuturism – “focused
on black potential future through drama, documentary, animation, short horror
and sci-fi films.”

In addition, every screening during the series will feature invited guests working in the
sciences, film, animation, and comic books.

The four
programs will concentrate of a single theme: Program One – AfroFutures; Program
2 – Cosmic Africa; Program 3 – Black Radical Imagination; and Program 4 – New
Voices and New Visions: Sci-Fi and Horror Film Shorts.

Every
program will take place at the SMG Chatham 14 theaters, located at 210 W. 87th
St in Chicago, starting at 7PM.
