Here it is, superhero movie (and Michael B. Jordan) fans (I shouldn’t forget Reg E. Cathey, either)! The first teaser trailer for 20th Century Fox’s “Fantastic Four” reboot, directed by Josh Trank, and starring Miles Teller, Michael B. Jordan, Kate Mara, Jamie Bell and Toby Kebbell.
FYI, Trank previously directed Michael B. Jordan in 2013’s surprise hit “Chronicle,” a kind of superhero origins story that was very much grounded in reality – something that we’ve heard this “Fantastic Four” movie will also lean on. Over the last few months, we’ve been told to expect a “different” kind of superhero movie – one that’s more character-driven. One of the producers also shared that their super powers will be treated more like disabilities that they have to adjust to over time, which I thought was an interesting way to look it.
Although I’m sure there’ll certainly be more than enough action to thrill the average superhero movie fan.
Set for release on August 7, 2015, in 3D, the script was penned by Jeremy Slater, Simon Kinberg & Josh Trank, with Matthew Vaughn, Kinberg, Hutch Parker, Robert Kulzar, and Gregory Goodman producing, the film’s synopsis reads: ‘Fantastic Four,’ a contemporary re-imagining of Marvel’s original and longest-running superhero team, centers on four young outsiders who teleport to an alternate and dangerous universe, which alters their physical form in shocking ways. Their lives irrevocably upended, the team must learn to harness their daunting new abilities and work together to save Earth from a former friend turned enemy.
