Project of the Day: 'April Flowers' Follows A Mission to Return a Mysterious Journal

Here’s your daily dose of an indie film in progress — at the end of the week, you’ll have the chance to vote for your favorite.

In the meantime: Is this a movie you’d want to see? Tell us in the comments.

April Flowers

Tweetable Logline: An anonymous journal induces her fantasy. Clues from within lead to the mysterious author. But the reveal may cost her true relationships.

Elevator Pitch: While on her daily commute, April discovers an anonymous journal, and finds the writing therein captures her heart. Emboldened by this mystery author’s words, and led by clues hidden within the pages, April sets out on a mission to return the journal, all-the-while building a fantasy in her head that may compromise the very real relationships in her life.

Production Team:
Producers: Myopia Pictures, Mozzlestead
Writer: Christopher Tedrick
Director: Christopher Tedrick
Director of Photography: Eugene Koh
Starring: Jessika Van (MTV’s “Awkward”), Jon Fletcher (CW’s “The Messengers”), Sean Cullen (Michael Clayton), Kate Middleton (CBS’ “Mercy”)

About the Film: It’s been said we live in “The Era of Choice,” and April, like many of us, experiences difficulty in making choices because so many choices exist. There’s a fear in selecting the wrong one. Our premise takes this idea and wraps it in a love story, pitting fantasy against pragmatism. We believe the story transcends sex, race and creed to bring a universal understanding to a contemporary issue.

Current Status: Currently in pre-production, and fundraising.
