It’s an interesting gambit, but count us warily interested in the adaptation of Kody Kepling’s YA novel, written during the author’s senior year of high school
Every circle of girls, the story goes, has a DUFF. The film’s designated everygirl, Bianca (Mae Whitman), is told that she’s the approachable one in her clique — though not necessarily in a good way. Bianca then decides to appropriate that label for herself — and refuse to let the school’s mean girl make her feel bad about herself.
The DUFF opens February 20, 2015.
