Hey, remember when we told you about a fantastic short film called “The Phone Call”? And then that short film made it onto our list of the best short films of 2014? Well, now that short film has been nominated for the Academy Award for Best Live Action Short, and the filmmakers’ celebratory moment was taught on video at a pub!

The short stars Academy Award nominee and Golden Globe winner Sally Hawkins as a woman who works in a helpline call center. Academy Award winner Jim Broadbent is the caller; a man considering suicide after his wife’s recent death. The short tells a wrenching story of loss and depression that somehow by the end is so uplifting you’ll wonder how it can do in 20 minutes what some full length features can’t in two hours.

But enough sadness. Check out how freaking happy the filmmakers are in this exclusive video of them watching the Academy Award nominations announcement in a pub in England. The suspense is killing them!
