Can Marvel maintain their massive success once Joss Whedon leaves? Will “Ant-Man” be their first misfire? There are a lot of questions the comic book studio faces in 2015 as they wind down Phase Two of their cinematic universe, but there are big things coming. Not just in the roll of the dice that is “Ant-Man,” but in the blockbuster-ready “The Avengers: Age Of Ultron.” But until the new trailer for that movie arrives next week, here’s a chance to look back on where the studio has been with this five-minute supercut.
Focusing on their Phase 2 films, Adrian Conlon has put together a retrospective look highlighting “Guardians of the Galaxy,” “Captain America: The Winter Soldier,” “Thor: The Dark World,” “Iron Man 3,” and “The Avengers: Age Of Ultron” (if you’re wondering where “Ant-Man” is, this was created before the trailer this week). And basically, if you’re a fan, you’ll likely dig this, as it captures the massive spectacle Marvel brings to the table (though this could use a touch of the humor the comic book studio adds to their movies as well).
