Burning desire, trust, and love are often the foundations of youthful trysts, but what happens when a sexual encounter turns into physical and emotion betrayal? That question lies at the center of David Robert Mitchell‘s hugely buzzed horror “It Follows,” and today comes a well-crafted U.K. trailer for the film.
Maika Monroe leads the movie as a young woman whose innocent dalliance with a young man turns deadly: he’s infected her with a disease, one that finds her being chased by phantoms only she can see. And the only way to get rid of it will be to pass it along to someone else, but sometimes the simplest solution isn’t always the right one. And as you’ll see below, this is a stylish movie with a brainy concept, executed with some panache. This is one of the few horrors where it’s okay to believe the hype — it made our list of The 25 Best Films Of 2015 We’ve Already Seen.
“It Follows” screens at the Sundance Film Festival, arrives in the U.K. on February 27th, and in the U.S. on March 27th.
