"AMERICAN SNIPER" should win but we know that the liberal left and politics always dictate. This show has no credibility because it is not based on what should win. It is like in high school….whom ever sleeps with the quarterback (AA) wins homecoming queen. Talent and ticket sales mean nothing. American Sniper outsold them all. Disgusting shame that the Academy Awards have become a political statement not a talent statement.

Honestly, the general weight you’ve placed on Gone Girl is startling to me. I’m really surprised how much people liked it. Honestly, these awards are predictable because its politics. PS. I’m with Actriz on this one, Ben Affleck is a "Basic Bitch."

KAREN LEE

BOYCOTT THE GARBAGE OSCARS!! With Patrick Harris literally using a hypnotizing wheel to "Watch the Oscars" and all the symbology in their "Oscar Art" section? Really? And what’s worse is people are starving around the world and actresses are showing off $5,000-10,000 dresses, dripping in diamonds to get awards to show how great they are? WTF are we watching this crap for? Only in America.

Excuse me...

You are missing some categories still!

Ezra

Can you please, please, please make predictions for Best Animated and Live Action Short? The shortlists of ten in each respective category are on the Academy’s website, and you can watch one or two of the shorts legally online already. :)

Jason

When will we get info on the live action narative shorts?

Do na

Come Leonardo you can do this!

Natalie

I really wish fantasy/superhero movies didn’t get so overlooked. Captain America: The Winter Soldier was bloody amazing. Why does the academy ignore well-made movies that audiences adore?

James Kan

I’m a little bit disappointed by those predictions. Last year, Gravity won 7 oscars. And this year we have Interstellar, which is really better than Gravity so I think that this Nolan movie should be rewarded

Brett

People are saying Selma might win Best Picture, the movie looks good but come on we just gave that award to 12 Years a Slave, can’t we have a movie with a different subject matter win next year? Like Birdman or Boyhood? Those movies brought something new we don’t see in films in often, Selma just looks like another "Stop being cruel to black people" story!

Rain

Don’t forget about the other three categories, Best Documentary Short, Best Live-Action Short, and Best Animated Short. How come they’re not up yet?

Quirky Boy

I don’t think Chef will receive any awards recognition but I agree with your comment below

Stergios

If Marion Cotillard doesn’t win the Oscar for Best Actress In A Leading Role at the 87th Academy Awards ceremony, I really don’t have any reason to watch the Oscars this time at all. If things are hopeless for a talent as groundbreaking as Marion’s and a performance as towering as hers as the depressed Sandra in Dardennes’ latest masterpiece (and don’t even get me started on her tour de force of a performance in James Gray’s "The Immigrant"), then we’re screwed. The Best Actess category couldn’t be considered weak this year with 2 of the 10 greatest performances ever put on screen by an actor or actress in the same year, both of them from the greatest actress actress of all time, the one and only Marion Cotillard. Give her the Oscar already for either of them!

Ross

Also, Interstallar is a lock on pretty much all the technical categories.

Ross

For the big 4 categories, I’m predicting Interstellar for Best Picture, Angelina Jolie for director, Cumberbatch for Actor, and Julianne Moore for Actress

Ezra

I know these categories are tough, but I really would appreciate Best Animated, Live Action and Documentary Short predictions. Are they coming?

gerard kennelly

best actor depardieu welcome to new york best actress cotillard two days one night

Brett

It would be great if the Academy expanded the acting, writing, and directing categories like they do to Best Picture. Hell if the Golden Globes do that why can’t the Academy

Ezra

I think it’s not too early to start predicting Best Viual Effects; I’d say The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies, Dawn of the Plaent of the Apes, Godzilla, Guardians of the Galaxy and Interstellar are top contenders, with movies like X-Men: days of Future Past and Transformers: Age of Extinction in close contention.

Lautaro

Anand

Best Actress going to be shilene woodley

Gonzalo

I think that "Wild Tales"(from Argentina) is the one to win the Oscar for the Foreign Language film

Karen

Dinosaur 13 should should get a nod for best documentary.

Brett

I just saw Boyhood today and it’s the best movie of the year

Marko

Oops, sorry. Confused by the weird comments system (what? Voice?)

Anyways, I think that How to Train Your Dragon 2 has more than a good shot at winning Best Animated. Also, seeing as Laika produces some pretty good stop-motion films (Coraline and ParaNorman both being nominated), the Boxtrolls may get nominated. I would consider "When Marnie Was there" from Studio Ghibli, but I don’t think it’s coming this year in English…

Marko

lolwut?

Alex

I’m already predicting The Hobbit Battle of five armies will win Best Visual Effects

Sarah

Hope guardians of the galaxy gets at least nominated for best visual effects and or makeup and costumes

jon

Andy Serkis needs an Oscar for planet of the apes. he was beyond amazing

Brett

@BEN Tell me my good man, did you travel to the future and see Interstellar? If so then how is it a masterpiece as you claim it to be?

Daniel Delago

The Best Foreign Language Film is ‘Ida.’ And I agree with ‘Boyhood’ as Best Film nod. It’s groundbreaking cinema.

Brett

I know it's way too early to talk about but Kung Fu Panda 3 will be released next year on…Christmas time…hmmm…sounds suspicious…

Brett

Life Itself is gonna win Best Documentary, it's pretty obvious. Whenever there's a documentary involving politics or media entertainment it always wins

Spencer

Definitely keep an eye out on 'The Case Against 8' as a contender for Best Documentary. Saw it on Tuesday and I was at the edge of my seat from start to finish

Brett

Why are so many people talking about Inherent Vice as a sure win? I wouldn't mind it because I love Paul Thomas Anderson, but we haven't seen anything about it! Why are so many people predicting it will win?!

Sarah

My Prediction:

Best Picture : Inherent Vice
Best Director : Bennett Miller (Foxcatcher)
Best Actor : Joaquin Phoenix (Inherent Vice)
Best Actress : Amy Adams (Big Eyes)
Best Supp. Actor : J.K. Simmons (Whiplash)
Best Supp. Actress : Viola Davis (Get On Up)

msrk

Why do you even write such pointless drivel? Its not even June and you name 30 or more posssible actors? Lazy and useless.

Hackman

Winners:
Best Picture – Inherent Vice
Best Director – Angelina Jolie (Unbroken)
Best Actor – Steve Carrell (Foxcatcher)
Best Actress – Amy Adams (Big Eyes)
Best Supporting Actor – Owen Wilson (Inherent Vice)
Best Supporting Actress – Reese Witherspoon (Inherent Vice)

Maybe:
Best Picture – Foxcatcher
Best Director – Paul Thomas Anderson (Inherent Vice)
Best Actor – Joaquin Phoenix (Inherent Vice)
Best Actress – Rosamund Pike (Gone Girl)
Best Supporting Actor – Johnny Depp (Into the Woods)
Best Supporting Actress – Meryl Streep (Into the Woods)

Brett

I think it's possible we could get another animated film in the Best Picture category and one of them could be either The Lego Movie or How to Train your Dragon 2

Brett

I think the Academy should add these categories:
Best Leading Male Voice in an Animated Feature
Best Leading Female Voice in an Animated Feature
Best Supporting Male Voice in an Animated Feature
Best Supporting Female Voice in an Animated Feature
Best Choreographer
Best Stunt Double

Brett

I think it's possible Jon Favreau could get his first nomination for Chef (Screenplay only)

Brett

I'm already predicting The Lego Movie will win Best Animated Feature
