All The Songs In Terrence Malick's 'Knight Of Cups': Lots Of Classical, Plus Tracks By Explosions In The Sky, Burial, & More

This is how it goes with Terrence Malick — long stretches of quiet around whatever he’s working on, followed by an intense period of scrutiny as it gets unveiled. And so it goes today, with "Knight Of Cups" premiering at the Berlin International Film Festival. The first poster was revealed, our review is right here, and we’ve gotten our hands on all the music featured in the director’s latest look at the soul of man (or something).

As per usual, Malick leans heavily on classical jams, with compositions by Arvo Part, Claude Debussy, Edvard Grieg, and more. For those of you want to cue up your playlists with something more contemporary, there are tunes by Thee Oh Sees, Explosions In The Sky, Burial, and a ton of music by ambient electronic artist Biosphere.

Below you’ll find the full list of songs, and on the next page, all the tracks your ears can handle.

most of these aren’t songs

Guys, can you tell me what theme is it playing, which includes high organ music? I just can’t find it and it’s annoying.

It is very nice to see this list, but as usual there are some – I hope non-intentional – mistakes – Arvo Pärt (I do not see any problem to write Pärt instead of Part. And of course there is no "Salons" song… Henryk Górecki – no "Hynryk", letter ¨ó¨ shouldn´t be a problem. Or would you be happy if somebody mentioned – Kevin Jaggernuth for example? Every research needs focusing, not a "hot needle".

Thanx for the list, by the way it’s Idil Biret (got spelled a tiny bit wrong)

There is a classical song in the movie that has (I think) a clarinet in it playing this enchanting melody. It sounds a bit like the four little swans (youtube = watch?v=-gApOfm4qd0). It was played 2 times in the movie If I recall. Does anybody know what the name of that song is?

Angel, you’re looking for ” Water Theme ” by Hanan Townshend.
But why bother with earthly music? Is heaven that disappointing?

antonio gaitan

Which are the two songs that sound in the Trailer?

Sleep Good !

"Silouan’s Song" by Arvo Part?

Thanks man, that’s some good work right there!
