HBO Renews 'Last Week Tonight with John Oliver' for Two More Seasons

Only two weeks into its second season, HBO has picked up Seasons 3 and 4 of “Last Week Tonight with John Oliver.” HBO Programming President Michael Lombardo made the announcement today via a press release, ordering up 35 episodes for each season. Season 3 will air in 2016 and Season 4 in 2017.

“We are incredibly proud to have John as part of the HBO family,” Lombardo said. “His unique ability to deliver socially significant commentary week after week, along with his innate comedic brilliance, puts John in a class by himself.”

The series just won a Writers Guild Award for Best Comedy/Variety series on Saturday, February 14. It beat “The Daily Show” for the award, as well as “The Colbert Report.”

Last Week Tonight with John Oliver” airs Sunday nights at 11pm.
