Indiepix Films announced today two new acquisitions to be released across all platforms.
“So Bright is the View,” directed by brothers Michaël and Joël Florescu, was an official selection at the 36th Moscow International Film Festival. The film follows a pregnant, middle-class Jewish girl in Bucharest who’s forced to decide between working for a business thug in Atlanta and joining her mother in Israel. Her only other option, it seems, is a Romanian-American businessman who may or may not have a job for her. “Bright” will be released on VOD on April 21 with a limited theatrical release to follow.
“Soldate Jeannette,” (“Soldier Jane” in English) directed by Daniel Hoesl, won the Hivos Tiger Award at the 2013 Rotterdam International Film Festival, Sundance Film Festival and New Directors, New Films in 2013. It has been described as a somber art film, a depiction of the failure of materialism and a deadpan comedy. It begins with a member of the Viennese bourgeoisie burning all of her money in the mountains. It will VOD and other digital streaming platforms on May 19, also with a limited theatrical release.
