There have been many, many, many adaptations of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s "Sherlock Holmes" stories of late, but none have taken a twist quite like this one. In "Mr. Holmes," (set in 1947) an elderly Sherlock (Ian McKellen) is sequestered in a seaside farmhouse, tending to bees. He’s pulled out of retirement for one last mystery, which he intends to solve with the aid of a young boy.
In the clip below, Holmes grapples with his fading memories and his advancing age while on a picturesque stroll. "Mr. Holmes" is playing at this year’s Berlinale (which began today) and will be released by Roadside Attractions in Summer 2015. The film also stars Laura Linney and Milo Parker.
