“We cherry-picked two of the most enthralling segments from the filmmakers’ ‘Spring’ archive, about special effects and music, both of which speak to the BitTorrent community’s passion for film and music. And what’s really exciting about these pieces is that they’re far more personal and playful than the average ‘Making Of…’ doc. Creative users looking for inspiration and insight into film craft will really enjoy them,” said Drafthouse Films Brand Manager Jon Stobezki
Starring Lou Taylor Pucci
, the film follows Evan, a young and adrift American abroad in the wake of his mother’s death. Backpacking along the coast of Italy, he meets Louise (Nadia Hilker
), an intense, mysterious genetics student. Sparks begin to fly, and a romance blooms into something monstrous, as Louise’s real identity is unraveled.
Since 2011, BitTorrent has collaborated with artists, inventors, studios, labels and distributors to build the new publishing platform. In an attempt to change it’s reputation for piracy, as well as to demonstrate the possibilities of the BitTorrent protocol for content creators and publishers, BitTorrent has recently partnered with high-profile filmmakers and distributors of documentaries “The Act of Killing” and “The Crash Reel,” as well as David Cross’ directorial debut “HITS,” on BitTorrent Bundles. The bundles also include background information on the film projects along with exclusive material (interviews, videos, photographs, etc.).
