Academy Award®-winning director Oliver Stone last film “Savages” was not as well-received as some of the director’s previous work; however, his return to hard-hitting political thrillers with “Snowden” could restore both critics and audiences faith in his vision.
In “Snowden,” Joseph Gordon-Levitt embodies Edward Snowden, whose story was popularized this year in the Academy Award-winning documentary “CitizenFour.” Stone’s film aims to focus on the man’s life before becoming the world’s most famous whistle-blower. During this time Edward was an ordinary man who unquestioningly served his country.
“Snowden” is currently shooting in Munich, before moving to locations around the world. Given the caliber of the talent involved, we could be talking about a major awards season player. Open Road Films will release “Snowden” in the U.S. on December 25, 2015
