'Mommy' Sweeps Canada's Version of the Oscars

Xavier Dolan’s “Mommy” might have missed Oscar’s cut, but Canada’s homegrown version of that — the Canadian Screen Awards — helped make up for it. “Mommy” won a whopping 9 trophies, including Best Picture, Best Director and acting awards for Anne Dorval, Antoine Olivier Pilon and Suzanne Clément. Not surprising, really, though more so is the fact that this is actually the first time a Dolan film won the top prize here (though it’s his fourth consecutive film to get nominated).
