“Saturday Night Live” may have been a tad late to the party, considering HBO’s “The Jinx: The Life and Deaths of Robert Durst” signed off the air two weeks ago, but the sketch comedy show nonetheless took on the eponymous Durst this weekend, and wildly succeeded thanks to cast favorite Kate McKinnon.
Sporting a convincing grey wig and adopting all of Durst’s weird ticks and gravely enunciations, McKinnon nailed the alleged murderer’s freewheeling banter and knack for saying things on air he probably shouldn’t. “You have too much energy,” McKinnon says to Aidy Bryant. “What’s your address?” Lines like these perfectly summarize what has made Durst such a fascinating national figure over the past couple weeks.
“Saturday Night Live” returns this Saturday with Michael Keaton as host.
