HBO has released a new trailer for the BBC adaptation of J.K. Rowling’s international bestseller “The Casual Vacancy.” The first adult novel from the “Harry Potter” author centers on the town of Pagford, a seemingly perfect English village that is torn apart following the death of its beloved Parish Councillor.

Michael Gambon heads a talented ensemble that also includes Keeley Hawes, Rory Kinnear, Monica Dolan, Julia McKenzie and Abigail Lawrie. Directed by Johnny Campbell and adapted by Sarah Phelps, the three-part miniseries looks to keep the intriguing mysteries and spiky humor of the original text in tact based on the trailer above.

Parts one and two of “The Casual Vacancy” will debut back-to-back Wednesday, April 29 from 8:00-10:00pm, followed by the premiere of part three Thursday, April 30 at 8pm.
