Time to put on the speculation hats. Marvel is continuing to expand their comic book universe on the small screen, but here’s the twist — it’s not going to be for a new character.

EW reports that John Ridley (“12 Years A Slave,” “All Is By My Side,” “American Crime“) has been tapped by the studio to develop a new series for ABC that involves “reinventing” a current Marvel character/property. Hmm….any thoughts? It’s an intriguing notion and makes you wonder who Marvel wants to do-over or continue in a different way on the small screen. And it’s a top shelf talent being enlisted here, which also raises eyebrows.
