A Summer Album Worth Anticipating: Giorgio Moroder’s 'Déjà Vu'

The Italian songwriter virtuoso behind some of the most renowned dancefloor and movie soundtrack hits of the last century, AKA some of the greatest songs ever, has a pretty exciting album set to release June 12th. Featuring collaborations with popstar paragons Sia, Kylie Minogue, Britney Spears and Charli XCX, and a track entitled 74 is the New 24 — presumably an ode to Giorgio’s current age where he’s managed to remain as prolific as ever — Déjà Vu is sure to provide some musical backing to our vibrant summer daze and nights. And when you consider Moroder’s track record of Blondie’s Call Me, Bowie’s Cat People (Putting Out Fire), Irene Cara’s What a Feeling, and pretty much all of Donna Summer’s best disco jams, this promises to be a release well worth anticipating.

Add this to a slate featuring Frank Ocean’s “Boys Don’t Cry,” and the potential of Kanye West’s “So Help Me God,” Rihanna’s “R8,” and a new Grimes record (plz!), it’s safe to say our ears will be riding along some very satisfying audiowaves anytime soon.

Listen to Moroder’s newly-unveiled title track with Sia below, and take a look at Déjà Vu’s bountiful dancepop track list:
