Don’t ever suggest Meryl Streep doesn’t know how to put her money where her mouth is. The actress, feminist and all round goddess has made a "significant contribution" to a new screenwriting lab for women over 40.
Run by New York Women in Film and Television, the lab will mentor eight screenwriters at n rintensive workshop at Wiawaka Center for Women on Lake George, NY from September 18-20, 2015. "Beyond The Lights" director Gina Prince-Blythewood, "Boyhood" producer Caroline Kaplan and "Legally Blonde" writer Kirsten Smith have all already been confirmed as mentors. Mentors advise in one-on-one meetings with additional group events designed to inspire artists to hone their creative vision.
The initiative was launched at the Tribeca Film Festival over the weekend. Applications will be available here starting May 1st.
