Saturday May 9th in New York: The School of Visual Arts 26th Dusty Film & Animation Festival

The School of Visual Arts is known for producing phenomenal
filmmakers and extraordinary animators. For their 26th Dusty Film
and Animation Festival
we expect that nothing but the best will be showcased
this year. Over 100 graduating filmmakers and animators
from the School of Visual Arts in New York will be celebrated during the
three-day festival.

This year, awards will be presented to alumni
Daniel Minahan (BFA 1987 Film & Video.) 
His credits include, HBO’s Game of Thrones, True Blood and
he is currently the executive producer and show runner for the Netflix series, Marco
Polo.
  Animator and alumni Alex
Kupershmidt (BFA 1982 Animation) will also be awarded
during the festival.  He joined Disney Animation Studios in 1982 and is
credited on Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, and the Lion King to name a few.  Recently, Kupershmidt has worked on Wreck-It
Ralph,
and the Oscar-winning film Frozen. 

The School of Visual Arts’ 26th Dusty
Film & Animation festival will take place at the SVA Theatre at 333 West 23rdStreet
(between 8th and 9th Avenue) It begins
on Saturday, May 9th and concludes with the Awards Ceremony
on Tuesday, May 12 at 6:30 PM.  This festival is free to the public. For more information visit the SVA Website
