Screen Talk: The Politics of Cannes, TV and Film Festivals, 'Felix & Meira'

We’re excited. But the festival is still hanging on to its old definitions of what makes a Cannes Competition auteur. It’s tough to land a slot with a family animated feature or a documentary. And while women are in there, they are still a minority. 

Cannes still doesn’t program much TV either–or Netflix titles for that matter. Other festivals are following the talent, however. And more and more stars like Kristen Stewart are using their bankability to push movies like "Clouds of Sils Maria" into existence. 

We also hail the intimate virtues of relationship drama "Felix and Meira."
