Tessa Thompson has booked the female lead opposite Alexander Skarsgard and Michael Pena in the indie comedy “War on Everyone,” written and to be directed by John Michael McDonagh, which follows 2 corrupt cops in New Mexico who set out to blackmail and frame every criminal unfortunate enough to cross their path. Things take a sinister turn, however, when they try to intimidate someone who is more dangerous than they are. Or is he?
Thompson, who we last saw starring in “Dear White People,” and was featured in “Selma,” has signed up to play a former stripper who ends up dating one-half of the corrupt cop duo, Terry (played by Skarsgard).
She will next be seen in Ryan Coogler’s “Rocky” spin-off “Creed,” also as the female lead opposite Michael B. Jordan.
