"Amy" will focus on the late songstress’ troubled rise to stardom — a journey Winehouse was psychologically unprepared for, according to the film’s first teaser. The doc will also recount the performer’s life and career via previously unavailable archival footage and tracks.
Winehouse broke into the pop mainstream with her second album "Back to Black," which won five Grammys and sold more than 20 million copies. But she also struggled with addiction for much of her adult life.
"Amy" will be released on July 3 in the UK. A24 will theatrically distribute the doc in the US this summer.
