Netflix is really becoming a powerhouse player. On any given night, a third of the country is watching he subscription service. They’re becoming huge forces in the world of the Emmys and television prestige, and they even recently bought a 2015 Oscar contender in Cary Fukunaga’s “Beasts Of No Nation” starring Idris Elba. Considering where they’re at now, Marvel’s deal with the company, struck two years ago, feels positively ahead of the curve. And they’re first flagship show is about to debut: “Daredevil.” Featuring characters Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox), Wilson Fisk (Vincent D’Onofrio), Foggy Nelson (Elden Henson), Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll), and Claire Temple (Rosario Dawson), the show debuts next week on April 10th, so both companies are starting to get heavy with the promotion.
Earlier this week, Marvel unveiled five new character posters for the series that all fit together to form one full street scene, and now the first clip from the series has been unveiled. It features Matt Murdock in pretty bad shape after being rescued by Claire Temple. Is the show going to be as dark as the series has touted? Well, it’s said to be “PG-16” which is obviously edgier than PG-13, but quite not R-Rated, and the showrunners have likened it to “Taxi Driver” and “Dog Day Afternoon.”
Watch the first clip below and get prepped to binge-watch the whole series on April 10th.
