IFC Midnight has acquired the U.S. rights to the supernatural drama “One & Two,” which premiered at the Berlin International Film Festival earlier this year to widespread praise.
“One & Two” is an ethereal familial tale with a strong cast that includes Kiernan Shipka (“Mad Men”), Grant Bowler (“True Blood”) and Elizabeth Reaser (“The Good Wife”). According to the official synopsis: “‘One & Two’ takes place in a mysterious farmhouse, where a family of four maintains a routine and isolated existence. As siblings Eva (Shipka) and Zac (Timothée Chalamet) explore unusual abilities and dark family secrets, their loving mother falls gravely ill, splintering the family and threatening to tear the children apart.”
The film marks Andrew Droz Palmero’s first time directing a fictional feature-length film. Palmero, who is primarily a cinematographer for documentaries, made his first attempt at directing a feature by co-directing last year’s Sundance Film Festival Grand Jury Prize-winning documentary “Rich Hill.”
In a release issued today, Palermo expressed excitement about working working IFC Midnight. “Their enthusiasm for our film is palpable and genuine, and I couldn’t be happier to join their impressive and ever-growing roster,” he said.
An exact release date has yet to be announced.
