In this week’s episode, Kohn and Thompson are joined by Indiewire managing editor Nigel Smith from the Cannes Film Festival, where the trio discuss some of the highlights of the program so far. After gushing over “Mad Max: Fury Road,” they turn to some of the more contentious titles that have screened so far, including Matteo Garrone’s “Tale of Tales” (which Kohn liked more than his colleagues) and opening night selection “Standing Tall.” Kohn also expresses enthusiasm for the Holocaust thriller “Son of Saul,” and the team looks ahead to other anticipated competition films that will screen in the coming days.

Join us next week for another conversation about this year’s Cannes lineup from the festival, as Kohn and Thompson record a live episode from the American Pavilion. If you’re at Cannes, you can join the pair for the event on May 21 at 2 p.m.
