Now Quitting 'Game of Thrones': A U.S. Senator

On Monday, The Mary Sue announced it was suspending all coverage of “Game of Thrones” in protest over the show’s frequent rape scenes. Now, a U.S. Senator is following suit.

This seems to be the first time McCaskill has expressed any feelings at all about the HBO adaptation of George R.R. Martin’s books, getting fed up with the show’s addiction to sexual assault is understandable — and given that no one was exactly clamoring to hear a Missouri politician’s views on the subject, that she finds it politically expedient to come out against the show could be a sign that public opinion is turning as well. But what’s wrong with the Water Garden scene? I mean, sure, they could have built up the Sand Snakes a little better, but it was a pretty cool fight. Explain yourself, Senator.
