Have you been deeply missing the Lyon family’s melodrama since the season one finale aired in March, anxiously awaiting the return of Lucious, Andre, Hakeem, Jamal, and the fierce matriarch behind it all, Cookie? Following some exciting news from the @EmpireWriters Twitter account, it looks like you need no longer worry.
Helmed by Lee Daniels and broadcast on FOX, the highly-watchable success story that was “Empire” will grace our television screens once more with its presence — all starting on September 23. This second season is set to feature 18 episodes aired in two halves, as opposed to first season’s 12 episode storyline.
With confirmed appearances by Chris Rock, Lenny Kravitz and Alicia Keys, it sure seems there’ll be a lot in store for the musical soap this time around. But what do you think? Is “Empire” capable of maintaining its nonstop twists and turns over an especially elongated season?
The suspense is killing us, but we’re not so sure this Cookie is ready to crumble. September 23rd — kids, mark those calendars.
