Watch: Sexy, Morbid, Exclusive 'Nina Forever' Trailer Foreshadows a Messed-Up Fairytale

Epic Pictures Group is handling worldwide rights at Cannes for SXSW horror smash “Nina Forever,” directors Chris and Ben Blaine’s atmospheric tale of a dead ex-girlfriend who returns to the land of the living to haunt a young man and sabotage his new relationship.

“The Blaine brothers’ atmospheric feature offers a sometimes extreme depiction of romantic fixation,” wrote THR at SXSW, “deliberately skirting the more outrageous conventions of horror comedy with a stab at a more nuanced appreciation for the sometimes obsessive morbidity of ill-fated love.” The film stars Fiona O’Shaughnessy and Abigail Hardingham. The Playlist called the film “fresh, original and surprisingly tender.”

“Nina Forever” joins Epic Pictures’ buzzy genre lineup at the Cannes market, alongside Norwegian horror tale “Villmark Asylum,” anthology film “Tales of Halloween” and Israeli horror feature “Jeruzalem.”
