A Silly Symphonies Celebration—in Vinyl and in Concert

A Silly Symphonies Celebration—in Vinyl and in Concert

With The Disney Music Emporium web site approaching its
first year, two major landmarks have been announced that exemplify the
site’s dedication to Disney music and recordings created in the classic tradition.

Annouced today, both a fully orchestrated concert hosted by Leonard Maltin and an unprecedented
16-record vinyl record boxed set – each to celebrate Walt Disney’s groundbreaking
Silly Symphony cartoons, the classic 1930s shorts that led to such features as Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and Fantasia, as well as Beauty and the Beast and Frozen.

For
the first time, all 75 original Silly
Symphony
cartoon soundtracks will be released on sixteen pristine vinyl
records, in eight gatefold covers plus a keepsake slipcase box. Each album will
feature liner notes by renowned Disney music historians.

Multi-award-winning
producer Randy Thornton has meticulously restored and remastered every note of
these priceless musical works, from The
Skeleton Dance
and The Old Mill
to Three Little Pigs and The Night Before Christmas. The sound
quality will be unlike that of any and all previous audio or video releases.

The
new Silly Symphony Collection boxed set  is part
of the ongoing efforts of the Disney Music Emporium —  the
company’s online destination for enthusiasts of Disney music
and records. In addition to offering the complete line of Disney Legacy
Collection
albums and collectible music-related items, it’s a resource for exclusive behind-the-scenes stories, historic essays, expert
commentary and, in particular, spotlights on the people who made Disney music
magic, past and present.

To
that end, the Disney Music Emporium will also be presenting Disney in
Concert: A Silly Symphony Celebration
, hosted
by Leonard Maltin on Sunday, August 16th at the D23 Expo in Anaheim, California. These
concerts will mark the first time a live orchestra performs the actual scores in
sync with the films, re-creating the sound and feeling sounding of recording
sessions at the original Disney Hyperion Studio in the ‘20s and ‘30s.

During
the entire D23 Expo—August 14th to 1th6, 2015—the Disney Music Emporium will host
its own location on the convention floor, where fans will be able to pre-order
The Silly Symphony Collection box set and meet Lorelay Bové of Walt Disney Feature
Animation – who will sign the Disney Legacy Collection CD albums
that feature her  new artwork—in addition to other music and
record-related signings during the
event.

Details
about the D23 Expo events can be found at D23EXPO.com.
