Colman Domingo will take his acting talents to television, booking what will be a recurring role on AMC’s upcoming "The Walking Dead" spin-off series, "Fear The Walking Dead" (I really wish that was a working title, and not the actual title).
Set for a summer debut, the new series will take place in Los Angeles and will follow a male divorced teacher, a female guidance counselor, and her two children – a son and a daughter – during the zombie apocalypse.
The starring cast includes Kim Dickens, Cliff Curtis, Frank Dillane and Alycia Debnam Carey.
Dave Erickson, Robert Kirkman, Gale Anne Hurd, Greg Nicotero and David Alpert are Executive Producing.
With a two seasons ordered by AMC, "Fear the Walking Dead" premieres this summer, with a second season set for the summer of 2016.
I suppose this companion series is, in part, meant to keep fans of the original, engaged and satiated, until "The Walking Dead" returns in the fall.
No word yet on what character Domingo has signed up to play, but the busy actor is currently filming Nate Parker’s Nat Turner film, "The Birth of a Nation." We last saw him on the big screen in "Selma" playing Ralph Abernathy.
