Jody Hill may not be a huge comedy name like Judd Apatow, but his work behind the camera on “The Foot Fist Way,” “Observe & Report,” and the HBO series “Eastbound & Down” has certainly made clear what his distinct and brash brand of humor is all about. He’s pals with Danny McBride, and they develop projects together through their Rough House banner. Now Hill is gearing up what might be his biggest feature yet.
Deadline reports that Josh Brolin and McBride will star in “The Legacy Of A Whitetail Deer Hunter.” It’s a descriptive title, but you’ll have to use your imagination to think about what it might mean, because plot details are being kept wrapped up for now. But it must be a good one if Scott Rudin Productions are participating in the movie.
Production will get underway this fall, from a script penned by Hill, McBridge, and John Carcieri, the third pillar in the Rough House family. [Deadline]
