It’s two years until Marvel fans get hooked on a feeling again and line up for the sequel to “Guardians Of The Galaxy.” And now the movie has a title that plays right into its mixtape-ready good time vibes. Following up on speculation around the interwebs, helped by Kevin Feige blowing the cover in a rare moment of not sticking to script, director James Gunn has confirmed the followup will be called: “Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2” Okay, now that we’ve got the name out of the way, what is it actually going to be like?
“I think it’s going to be exciting,” Gunn told Collider. “I think it’s a more emotional movie. It’s both a bigger movie and a smaller movie, because we focus more intensely on some of the characters. We get to learn a lot about fathers in the second movie, and I think we focus a lot on that.”
So get ready for Another Awesome Mixtape, and maybe one with a few more slower jams for thematic resonance? ‘Vol 2’ drops on May 5, 2017. Check out James Gunn’s full Facebook post below.
