The Atomo-Vision of Joe Dante Comes to American Cinematheque

The Atomo-Vision of Joe Dante Comes to American Cinematheque

From Wednesday June 10, i.e. today, to Sunday June 14, five Joe Dante films will screen at the Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood. Director Joe Dante will accompany each screening, along with Q & As.

The series also includes an advanced screening of his latest horror-comedy, “Burying the Ex,” ahead of its premiere on June 19. This amusing film, which I caught at the Riviera Maya Film Festival, stars Anton Yelchin as a genre geek whose clingy, and very dead, girlfriend return to the living to wreak havoc on his life. Stars Yelchin, Ashley Greene and Alexandria D’addario will also attend this screening, on Thursday June 11.

The rest of the Atomo-Vision series includes a double bill of the whacky “Gremlins” and under-appreciated hoak-fest “Gremlins 2,” and screenings of “The Burbs,” “Innerspace” and Explorers.” More information via the American Cinematheque website can be found here.
