Three legendary cast members of “Saturday Night Live,” Fred Armisen, Bill Hader, and Seth Meyers, created IFC’s new series, “Documentary Now!” The show parodies some of the world’s most highly regarded documentaries. Celebrating
50 years of excellence and integrity in documentary filmmaking, the new series promises to alter
the way you look at film history.
Mocking classic documentaries, such as “Grey Gardens,” the IFC comedy series looks to remedy those end of summer blues. The first trailer features guest appearances from Jack Black, John Slattery, and
Irving Azoff, among others, all of whom will be scattered between six half-hour episodes.
“Documentary Now!” premieres Thursday, August 20 at 10pm. Armisen is currently in the Emmys mix for his first IFC series, “Portlandia,” and Bill Hader can be seen on the big screen opposite Amy Schumer in Judd Apatow’s “Trainwreck” on July 17. Check out the trailer below.
