Matt Damon alone in outer space? Yeah, it sounds like we saw this movie already in Christopher Nolan‘s “Interstellar.” But instead of going full crazy and making life difficult for the team that finds him, in “The Martian,” the astronaut is genuinely trying to survive and make it back to Earth safe and alive, after he’s left alone on Mars.
“The last thing Mark’s thinking about is life on Mars. He’s thinking about how to save his life on Mars,” Ridley Scotttold EW about Damon’s role. “He finds he has a problem, and instead of him collapsing into terror—because he’s got 28 days to live–and that’s if everything goes well for him–he knuckles down and actually starts to work it out.”
But before we get to the peril, this first preview promo for the movie introduces us to crew of the Hermes as they head to the red planet.Jessica Chastain,Kate Mara, Michael Peña and more serve as our guides through the ship and their mission, with Damon’s character signing off and looking forward to some deep dish pizza when he gets home. He doesn’t yet realize how good it’s going to taste after what he’s about to experience.
